Being a first-generation student intimidated me walking on to campus, but I actually found strength in it. I discovered the power to change the path for my family. I discovered perspectives others may not have or be able to provide and how important they truly are. I discovered strength and an internal desire to succeed and rise above all of the norms created for me. I am a last, first-generation student and ultimately, I am proud.
